Mission Statement
As Southern Arizona residents, our goal is to encourage behavioral health awareness in the community. NGHL wants to aid our community in receiving the most current and up to date behavioral health support that is available. This includes using the latest technology for diagnostic brain mapping.
The means to conduct diagnostic brain mapping uses a quantitative electroencephalogram machine, also known as a qEEG. The funds to provide this service and this machine to the State of Arizona will come from your generous donations and grant awards. Included in this cost is the training to provide a technician to offer neurofeedback to those who identify as "neurodivergent."
NGHL is hoping to provide modern behavioral diagnostic information for students at the grade school, high school, and college levels. Others who can benefit from brain mapping are professional athletes, people with traumatic brain injuries (TBI), Veterans, and first responders with PTSD.
For example: A high school student can have brain mapping done prior to entering sports, while competing suppose a head injury occurs- a second brain map can be done to see what changed and what cognitive abilities were affected. Thereby getting very specific support for the developing brain. These brain mapping tools can also be what are called "peace of mind" tests, helping alleviate fears of the unknown when it comes to potential damage in professional sports.
The qEEG can also be used for those who have identified neurodivergent labels of addictive personalities, social anxieties, learning disabilities, and many other behavioral struggles, including maladaptive thought patterns.
It is our goal at NGHL to be the second qEEG machine in Arizona. This opportunity would greatly open up treatment and diagnostic options for the people who could benefit from it in our community.
The services provided using the qEEG unit and the neurofeedback will provide families not only with hope, but a solution. Creating new paths for the mind and new opportunities for their future.

My "why" ...
I became interested in the field of behavioral analysis starting in 1990 while working at a nationwide daycare. I worked with children and families, many who suffered from cognitive and behavioral health issues. It was at that time that I decided to start my college career, and focus on neuro and biological psychology.
Fast forward to 2007, my son had braces, and was getting regular orthodontic care, however the economy changed and my husband and I both lost our jobs. I searched for an orthodontist that was willing to remove my son’s braces, since we could no longer afford them. I was put in touch with an orthodontist at the El Rio Health Center. I thought he would remove my son’s braces. As the orthodontist was working on my son, Ash, he started asking him questions about school, sports, and his goals in life. Instead of removing the orthodontics, the doctor decided to adjust them and put my son on a new protocol. The doctor said that he was impressed with our son and that Ash, must come from a good family. The doctor wanted to help us out and awarded our son Ash, with free care for the duration of his orthodontic needs... When I inquired about what made this possible, the doctor briefly explained how a grant works and how he was able to help my son by use of a grant.
I was in tears due to gratefulness and asked the doctor what I could do to thank him and his assistant. He requested that someday when I had the circumstances to “pay it forward.” My goal since then was to do just that and help others in challenging situations in my local community.
At the time I was working in a charter school in their behavioral health department. Since then, I have continued my education in early childhood development and the psychological needs of families. Additionally, I have expanded my practice to include helping those with maladaptive behaviors.
An important aspect of my "why" are my mentors in the naturopathic medical health field. I have observed these two mentors for over twenty years and have been appreciative of how they helped my family, not only to survive but to thrive, by addressing our needs at a holistic level. One of them passed away in Spring of 2021, however one of our last conversations we had was that he encouraged me to share the information and education I had on a much broader scale.
I am regularly earning CEUs through Harvard Medical School. In those conferences I have discovered that there are esteemed doctors and medical professionals in favor of using qEEG units and the information they provide, to aid those who suffer from, anxiety, addiction, depression, ADHD, and autism. A qEEG unit can also test cognitive abilities before and then again after injury to see exactly what part of the brain was affected. Due to its capabilities, it is a valuable piece of equipment when dealing with traumatic brain injuries, for example, those who have played professional sports or served in the military or have PTSD. The qEEG unit is easily transported due to its efficient size. There is only one other qEEG unit in Southern Arizona, therefore I feel our behavioral health community is being underserved due to lack of equipment.
Once the information is retrieved from the unit, the client can be put on individualized protocols including neurofeedback to help the brain to relearn and then build new synapsis.
An example of its use: The qEEG unit test is pain free and can even be done on sleeping babies. It has been used to gather information obtaining an even earlier accurate analysis of autism and/or ADHD. Examples have shown that the earlier ASD (autism spectrum disorders) are discovered the better the long-term outcome for the child, procedures can then be implemented to assist the client earlier than previously expected.
If you so choose to donate to Neurogenesis Holistic Labs, you will be helping people in the community that have challenges, like those mentioned throughout this request. The services provided using the qEEG unit and the neurofeedback will provide families not only with hope, but a solution. Creating new paths in their brains and new opportunities in their future.
GRATITUDE
An important aspect of my "why" are my mentors in the naturopathic medical health field. I have observed these two mentors for over twenty years and have been appreciative of how they helped my family, not only to survive but to thrive, by addressing our needs at a holistic level.
One of them passed away peacefully under our brilliant Arizona blue skies in Spring of 2021, however one of our last conversations we had was that he deeply encouraged me to share the information and education I was passionate about, on a much broader scale, therefore I dedicate gratitude to Dr. Michael Miles.
I am especially grateful to Dr. Jorge Cochran, the mentor who guided me on my health journey. He helped me to find peace and quiet holistically, by supplement education and listening and trusting my own health cues, so that I could hear myself think and make good decisions... addressing the person (myself included) as a whole, produces lifelong results, and quality of life. His encouragement for obtaining a QEEG unit is invaluable.

My Story:
My motivation for pursuing the vision of NGHL lies at the heart of my childhood. For as long as I can remember, I desired to work with a team to accomplish a goal. In all aspects of my life – be it professionally or personally – I like to work with others and have found it to be most productive when individuals with differing talents come together for a common cause. The "cause" that I enjoy is helping people become their best selves.
As a youth, I liked to help my friends with difficulties. As an adult, I found that having a hand in helping people improve their life gives me the greatest satisfaction. I enjoy observing and facilitating short-term and long-term changes for people; be it they are suffering from Complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, or other social and emotional challenges. As a result, my goal with NGHL is to facilitate the growth and recovery for clients in any way that I can.
Some of my responsibilities would include becoming the technician for the qEEG machine. To reach that goal I would need funding for training in using the machine. At this moment in time, that goal is out of my reach financially. Obtaining a grant would enable me to receive the training and education I need to service the Southern Arizona community with diagnostic brain mapping.
